According to Wikitubia, the Youtuber wiki, “Monsieur Jack (born: 1995 [age 28–29]) is an American YouTuber and musician who is known for his piano videos.” His channel bio describes him as a “New Yorker, History Teacher, Wobbly. History / Political buff and socialist.” He states that he makes “piano music and occasionally other stuff.” With 14,300 subscribers, its safe to say that he has attracted a cult following among sections of the online left. Monsieur Jack’s most popular video is his rendition of the Warszawianka, a Polish revolutionary song. Which has has received 72k views.
The Monsieur primarily uploads videos of himself playing traditional socialist songs on the piano while singing. A typical video will look like this:
Monsieur Jack has never shown his face on camera, preferring to let his musical talent speak for itself. His skill is undeniable, as is his passion for promoting socialist and working class culture. Music has always been at the heart of socialist activism, and channels such as Monsieur Jack are gratifying reminder that our movement must be joyful if we hope to succeed.
